Summer is almost gone for another year..

It has been almost a few months since I have been here to post. I have been stitching and keeping busy. I have a lot of patterns off to the side that I want to work on, will see how successful I am on that one, I do a lot of wishful thinking! My son started school this week, he started grade 10. The years have gone by fast! I am sharing a picture of my son on his first day of school. I also have a few finishes to share. I had stitched up a few small cards as gifts for friends, they were quick and simple to stitch but cute as well! I have a Halloween finish as well by La D Da, I got it from the Just cross stitch Halloween edition that I got back in January at the library book sale. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone's summer has been a good one!

Finally a few finishes after being away for a while

I realized it has been a few months since I have been online to my blog. Not much going on really, just have been moving at a turtle's pace with my stitching. My oldest son James has been out of school for a month now. We got through the freshman year! Come next month when school starts again he will be in 10th grade, the years have been flying by with him it seems. This summer James has been doing practice driving in secluded areas as well. Other than that not too much else going on in my household really to speak of. In the last few months I have been stitching and I have 3 finishes to share. All of my finishes are from the Just cross stitch Halloween issue from 2011 that I checked out from the library. Since I realized my local library has sewing magazines to check out I have been checking magazines out left and right! My first finish is called Witch's hat by The Stitchworks, the second finish which I am quite fond of is Witchy Kitty by Brittercup designs and then my third finish is called a crow's pick by Knotted Tree Needleart. For every holiday and season I have a tree up that I put my ornaments on and these are all made to go on that tree when it is time to start decorating for Halloween! I hope everyone that stops by my blog has a lovely holiday and week ahead and thanks for stopping by!

After a bit of time away I finally have some finishes..

I have had some non stitchy time for a while, but finally decided to pick up my sewing needle finally after many bouts of being ill I decided I wanted to get stitching again. I love going to my local library because they always have so many cross stitch books and magazines that I love to begin with. I had checked out the December 2011 edition of Just Cross Stitch magazine and found these 2 beautiful designs that I knew I wanted to stitch! The first finish is from a four seasons sampler, I stitched the winter portion of the sampler, the designer is Sally Hesketh. My second finish is called A Winter's Night by Kathy Schmitz. I had checked out another JCS magazine as well that I am going to be going through next, it is the Halloween edition and there is lots of goodies that caught my eye! Until next time, happy stitching!

A few small finishes...

Not too much stitchy stuff to speak of. My finishes are all small ones, but I like the way they turned out as well! These pretty stitched letters I got from the 2009 cross stitcher magazine. As you can tell the K is for my name Kay, J is for my son James and M is for my husband Mike. I made another little one as well for my friend whose name begins with a K also. The ones I made for here are going on the Christmas tree come Christmas. I also have a small prairie schooler finish as well as you can tell to ring in the fact that it is spring! Now that it has been officially spring as of late the nice weather seemed to go elsewhere. Been cold and this will be the second night in a week of having a frost. So that should tell you that it is cold! Easter is right around the corner and with that it means spring break will begin next week as well in my household. so it means family get togethers and teenagers sleeping over, lol. So needless to say by next weekend my hands will be full. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great Easter.

Finally some finishes!

I realize it has been about 2 months just about since the last time I have been here really. Not much going on at all, just have not felt like doing much. My stitching has been moving at a turtle's pace as well, but I do have a few finishes to share! My one finish of course is a Prairie Schooler Santa and the other finish is by LHN, Snow bunnies. Very cute that one turned out to be I think! Have been enjoying the nice warm weather out here as of late. Uncommon here for this time of year. Even my cats and dog enjoy the weather. Took our dog Strider out for a drive yesterday, he loved it! I hope everyone who stops by is doing well and thanks for popping in and of course for your kind words!

Some quick Christmas finishes!

I was able to get some stitching in the last few weeks. I decided to break into my stash of amazing magazines and patterns that I got from the library book sale about a month ago. My 2 finishes are from the 2007 JCS Christmas ornament issue. My first finish is by Little by Little Design Co. it is called Merry and bright. I love how this came out because the color scheme I think is colorful and bright! The reason I have the floss in the picture is because I had gotten this for Christmas in a floss swap I did and I wanted to show off how lovely the white floss looks that I used. It was by Ozark Sampler and it is called Goat's Milk. The cute little reindeer was a quick stitch. This is by Glory Bee it is called Rudy. As always thanks for stopping by and for your kind words! Off to do more stitching!

Some winter stitching..

This time I seem to have kept my hands busy. With it being winter it is cold and snowy out so needless to say more days are spent at home inside where it is warm so I have been stitching my time away. I managed to get a few finishes from from the JCS Christmas ornament issue from this year. The first finish is by Brittercup designs. This one I had to stitch because the kitty reminds me of my cats and how they love to sleep under the tree every year. The next finish is by Lizzie Kate. I know the year is a bit dated, but I had wanted to stitch this for some time and it is such a quick and simple finish. When I look back at the years it does not seem like it has been 16 years since I have been with my husband, but if I have a son that is going on 15 in August then it really has been that long. Time just seems to move on too fast! The last finish is also from the JCS issue. It is by Country Cottage Needleworks. I have seen a few stitch this and the original colors are pink and blue that are used, but that just really does not go too well with everything that is in my tree so I decided to be a rebel and stitch the colors that would blend in better with my tree. As always thanks for stopping by and for your kind words!

Happy New Year!

I have a few small finishes to share. The pictures I took do not do my work any justice though. I made 2 Victorian looking snowflakes from a cross stitch book that I checked out of the library by the Needlecraft Shop. I also have gotten another small finish done from the JCS Christmas magazine. This one is by Niki's creations. I am loving the Christmas edition of this magazine, so many designs I want to stitch so little time! I hope everyone had a good holiday season. Ours was a lovely holiday and a quiet one as well. Could not ask for more than that. Last year in our household brought a lot of bad times and sadness, so even though I was slightly panicking over the end of a year and the start of a new one on New Years Eve, I also am ready to get this year under way and work on leaving last year far behind. The other day I went to my local library because every January and August they have a book sale. I always go on the last day because the last day of the sale it is 1.00 a bag, so needless to say I walked out with 2 bags and 1 huge box for 3.00! My biggest find of the day at the library sale I was so thrilled about! The box I got was filled with nothing but many cross stitch magazines from Stoney Creek, to Just Cross Stitch, Cross Country Stitching and so much more!!! I am so thrilled with myself and cannot wait to start rummaging through my magazines!! As always thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone's holiday season was a good one!
